Energietechnik Essen GmbH – a member of the Georgsmarienhütte Group – bases its capabilities and skills on continuous research and development as well as on experience reaching back to 1811. The Energietechnik Essen GmbH develops, produces and supplies safety-relevant high-tech products, mainly for manufacturers of power generation machinery. When the first turbo-generator was built at the start of the 20th century, the Essen-based company supplied the retaining rings. Retaining rings are placed on the ends of the rotors to fix the copper coil against the centrifugal forces created by the high rotational speeds. The oldest documents in the company's archive relating to non-magnetisable retaining rings date back to 1901. Energietechnik Essen GmbH uses two remelting units, one electroslag remelting unit and one pressurised electroslag remelting unit, to produce the materials for retaining rings.

The foils themselves are classed as products in line with EU Regulation 1907/2006 dated 18th December 2006 and are not subject to mandatory registration. Our foils are primarily produced in Germany. For foils produced outside of Germany, we take care to ensure the same high standard of quality for raw materials and manufacturers.

For more than 55 years, we have been developing and producing testing machines in the Upper Swabian town of Riedlingen. One of our strengths is the design and production of high-quality special test machines according to individual customer specifications. An independent department deals with the development and adaptation of electronic assemblies on our test machines. There's a focus here on project planning and development according to customer-specific specifications. Hardware is produced by a subsidiary in Switzerland.

The company policy of AWK Verschlüsse GmbH & Co KG is based on three keystones: Quality, flexibility and service. And responsibility for the environment is always a focus here. Our committed team produces around 1.3 billion closures a year in two shifts. The history of AWK Verschlüsse GmbH & Co KG dates back to 1989, and production started in November 1990 with five production lines. In 1997, we were certified according to DIN ISO 9001. With the integration of PP production in 2003, we extended our portfolio to include seven more production lines. 2014 was the start of production machinery for the manufacture of PVC-free closures. Our product range includes various types of closures, including gas-tight aluminium closures, ventilating aluminium closures (Topvent) and pilfer-proof closures. These are used in a variety of areas such as mineral water, soft drinks, beer, wine, sparkling wine, milk and milk mix drinks, as well as spirits, pharmaceuticals, juices and kombucha.
